1/25 AMT/ERTL Ford Ranger XLT

I built this about three years ago as a break from doing aircraft.  I started with the basic construction of the kit.  After I had assembled the major components, I started work on the scratchbuilt items.  These consist of the following: directional arrow bar, battery box, road barricades, wheel chocks, stop/slow sign and post, roof top beacon, safety vest, and antennas.

The many light lenses are from the spare parts bin.  I used Evergreen styrene shapes for most of the scratchbuilt items along with some bits and pieces of wire and solder.

If you look closely, you will notice the latte cup on the left rear bed rail.  Located in the cab is a scratchbuilt hard hat for the flagger and a control box for the arrow bar.  The figure is from the Tamiya Campus Friends set.  The pylons are out of my parts box and I have long since forgot what kit they came from.

I detail painted the wheels and bumpers and used white and orange decals to enhance the tail lights.  The warning stripe and vehicle number were hand made.  The Washington D.O.T. decals came from a set of railroad decals. Model Master paints were used thorough out the build.

Enjoy the photos!
